"Transformers 3" Gets a Release Date

Posted: March 17th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Transformers 3" Gets a Release DateSubmit Comment
Paramount and DreamWorks are moving ahead with "Transformers 3," scheduling the movie for release on July 1st, 2011. Paramount said the studio wanted to claim the date before a competitor did, considering that the 2011 summer release calendar is filling up, especially by Marvel.

No deals have been inked with director Michael Bay or franchise stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. Nor has a writer been hired for the third installment.

The big-budget franchise has fast tried to claim the July Fourth holiday weekend as its own. "Transformers" opened on July 3rd, 2007; "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" bows on June 24th, 2009, one week before the holiday.

So far, "Transformers 3" has no direct competition on its July 1st, 2011 date.

No kidding Milwaukee Marvel. In 2011 we'll have Batman 2, Bond 23, Thor, Captain America, Spiderman 4, Dragonball 2, Harry Potter 7 part 2, SinCity 3, Tron 2, Terminator 5, TMNT 2, I am Legend 2, And now Transformers 3. And to think they called 2007 the year of the sequels.

Originality is dead and done in Hollywood, that's for sure.

not necessarily....i got a few original ideas...and i'm sure lots of others do....can't say hollywood would ever pass any of mine nor anybody else's as they prefer unoriginal ideas

Don't be surprised if they have a remake of Hanc*ck ready to come out in 2011 also.

i got better things to do than see every remake....anyway...the thing i love about good movies/music is how the people responsible start small...i say simplicity was their originality...cuz then they could take bizarreness and blow people away with it...lure them in...but hollywood chose their own way...it's ok...cuz i chose my own too

I was agreeing with you Marvel. Not trying to rank on you. And I just thought DBZ2 was sorta funny. Seeing as the first one isn't even out yet.
