"Taken" Sequel Already PlannedPosted: March 12th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

French filmmaker Luc Besson likes to work with the same people, which is why writer Robert Mark Kamen cannot be happier about being part of almost every Besson projects, including "The Fifth Element," "The Transporter" films and "Taken."
"I get to work with the world's greatest filmmaker without ever worrying about being replaced," he told the LA Times. "I feel like I died and went to writer's heaven, which is a place where you don't get rewritten and you can always get a three-star meal. It doesn't get any better than that."
And with the way things are going, there is no reason for Besson to worry about rewrites or finding other writers. "Transporter 3" grossed almost $100 million worldwide and "Taken" has already earned almost $200 million after only five weeks in theaters.
So what's next for the Besson/Kamen team? Apparently, the duo are currently planning a sequel to "Taken" and an American version of "District B13," which is similar to "Escape from New York," only with a lot more parkour.

Because anything that makes money HAS to become a franchise, right?

Transporter 3 made $100 million worldwide. That's really not that impressive.

*sigh* Oh well...Taken could have just been a really cool, kick ass movie, but they HAVE to make sequels, dont they? And yeah, $100 million worldwide for Transporter 3 is not amazing in any sense.

Don't fuck with Taken, it was awesome as it was, it wasn't a rambo or transporter type movie, just a story of fucking with the wrong guy's family. what would happen this time, they kidnap his neighbour??

They should leave it at one movie, a sequel would ruin the movie

If they make a second Taken and Liam Neeson signs on then it should be a good sequel. He seems to pick his roles good. He was the coolest character in the first 3 star wars.

i appreciate that the filmmaker is one of a kind...but to say he's the best in the world?...really don't think so...anybody has potential for something...and i'm sure in the next 5 or 10 years there'll be another 'greatest filmmaker in the world'...someone needs to fix some things with the film actors guild aka F.A.G. hahahaha

Yes! Awesome, a sequel! Lets hope its more like an 'X-Men 2' or 'Dark Knight' kinda sequel, and not a 'Men In Black II' type of sequel, if ya get what I mean.

I can see where they "could" make a "decent" sequel of Taken but heres the thing: THEY SHOULDNT!!! It's good on its own! Can anybody not make a film anymore without making a fucking sequel?!
