"Mongol" helmer Sergei Bodrov is set to direct "The Last Photograph," a Warner Bros drama that came from an original idea by "Watchmen" director Zack Snyder. Snyder will producer with partner/wife Deborah Snyder.
The film follows two men and the photograph that inspires them to travel to war-torn Afghanistan. Kurt Johnstad (300) wrote the script.
"Photograph" is on a fast track for the studio, and Snyder's production banner is becoming a serious player at WB, where the company has its deal.
Aside from "Watchmen," Snyder is in production on the animated film "Guardians of Ga'Hoole." Also being prepped is "Sucker Punch," the next film that Snyder will direct, based on his original idea. He is also developing Ray Bradbury's "Illustrated Man," the zombie saga "Army of the Dead" and "Cobalt 60."

His 3 movies consist of a remake and two comic book movies. Original isn't something I would associate with him. Watchmen was good, but only when it stuck close to the book.

Zach snyder has been the only guy in hollywood who has been able to produce films faithful to the source and at the same time keep them entertaining. Even Dawn of the Dead which was not faithful to the original was better than the origanil in my opinion. So I have faith in what snyder does in the future, but then again time will tell.
