Ralph Macchio Gives Jaden Smith "Karate Kid" Advice

Ralph Macchio Gives Jaden Smith "Karate Kid" AdviceSubmit Comment
Will Smith called the original "Karate Kid" actor for advice as his son gets ready to star in the remake of the hit movie. Smith surprised Ralph Macchio, who played Daniel Larusso in the 1984 cult classic, by calling him out of the blue.

"It was very cool," Macchio told E! News. "He called and said, 'Would you mind getting on the phone with my son?' I felt like Yoda to young Skywalker."

Macchio said the 10-year-old Jaden, who appeared alongside his famous dad in 2006 movie "The Pursuit Of Happyness," was "adorable and completely respectful" when they chatted. "I just told him to have fun. That was my advice," he said.

Seems like a wasted opportunity, since it was Macchio's chance to let Smith know exactly how he feels about the remake. It would have also been nice if he complained about Jaden wanting to remove the famous crane kick in favor of some moves he's seen playing on his Xbox.

Yoda never told Skywalker to "have fun". I have some advise Jaden....stay in school, don't take candy from strangers and leave Karate Kid alone.

yeah this movie will be weak compared to the original. the age difference alone is a big change of character because 10 years olds dont deal with the problems 16 year olds do. 10 year olds arent wanting drugs and sex.

That depends on what neighborhood that ten year old black kid is from, I dont think Jaden has that problem in real life.

Why don't they just remake Star Wars?

Come on dude! just tell him no matter what the movie's gonna suck........
Karate Kid *on phone with Jaden*: I don't think your up to being the new Karate Kid. Jaden: why not?
Karate Kid: well I COULD tell you how to make the best movie ever....
Jaden: HOW HOW???
Karate Kid:.........*listens to see if Will is there*...
Karate Kid:.....add me as your mentor! how cool would it be if I were teaching you how to fight and stuff everyone would love that!
Jaden: YEAH!
Karate Kid:.......yeah heh heh heh........

How about in this one, Jaden gets beat up, then calls Ralph Macchio, who tells him that he should file a lawsuit against the Cobra-Kai dojo, and they call his cousin Vinny, who helps them them win the day in a taut courtroom thriller.

Yeah, great idea, WP. Tell off some kid who probably has little to no control over this remake and who also happens to be the son of one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.

No crane kick? BOOOOOO!!!

Honestly, the crane kick wouldn't even work on a five year old. If they're really making this than a new move is a must. I'd rather leave the crane kick with the original. They shouldn't anything from the original because I'm afraid it will hurt both films. I just hope the move they pick isn't out of a Street Fighter game. Realistic please.
