First Look: Angelina Jolie in "Salt"Posted: March 3rd, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Angelina Jolie begins work today on "Salt" and USA Today already captured two of her looks; a soft-looking, all business blonde and a raven-haired femme fatale. Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) is directing.
Plot: The story centers on Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. She eludes capture by superiors who are convinced she is out to assassinate the president. While trying to reunite with her family, she struggles to prove someone else is the traitor.
Jolie's character, Evelyn A. Salt, originally was called Edwin A. Salt, back when the role was intended for Tom Cruise, who dropped out last summer. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says it wasn't as simple as changing "he" to "she" in the script.
"I had no idea how complex it would be," he says. "We had to rethink the whole notion of how a man vs a woman operates in the business world, in personal relationship and in friendships."
The film co-stars Liev Schreiber (Defiance) as Winter, her ally and supervisor in the CIA's Russia office, and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men) as Peabody, a counterintelligence officer who tries to take her down.
"Salt" is shooting in Washington and New York City and is scheduled to hit theaters next year.

Wow...I can see it now, Jolie isn't the spy, someone else is, then at the end, in a twist, she IS actually the spy (there were two). Boring.

sorry to spoil the ending, but Liev Schreiber is probably the traitor. its so simple to see how pathetic some plots are. just look at the secondary characters and you'll know whose the "bad" guy. stupid....(shes a hot bitch though)
