ABC Cancels "Life on Mars"

ABC Cancels "Life on Mars"Submit Comment
ABC has decided to end the show "Life on Mars" after a single year -- but in an unusual move, the network will keep the show on the air through the end of its full run. That will give the series a rare opportunity to sign off with a proper finale, wrapping up the series' core mystery.

Network insiders said they were fans of the show and pleased with its creative chops -- but that the ratings ultimately didn't warrant a second season. Five more episodes of "Life on Mars" remain out of the series' 17-episode order. As previously announced, the show's Wednesday 10pm slot will go to newcomer "The Unusuals" in April.

Based on the BBC series of the same name, "Life on Mars" centers on a cop who suddenly, mysteriously finds himself transported back to the 1970s, where the rules are dramatically different.

This show was dreadfull compared to its bbc forerunner. I dont know why you Americans need to remake everything that comes out of Britian, Is it the accents you dont understand??? The subtle dry humour??? Sad really.

rzmsauce - Quit painting is such broad strokes, "we" Americans don't remake everything. For starters, they're companies, huge enormous billion dollar businesses making decisions to do these remakes. It's capitalism and it's not always pretty and most of "us" think it's just as stupid as you do. Second, it's not as though the UK or the rest of the world is flooding the market with quality film and television that the American studios are just gobbling up. I think we're doing just fine in providing original film and television.

American Office better than British Office.

I don't know but nothing about it caught on with me to watch even one episode. Maybe marketing was bad overall. Anyhow what's with the UFO stuff in it? Was he really in the 70's? And who was that man who called him to say the same thing had happened to him? Odd.
