Sarah Jessica Parker spoke to Access Hollywood about the upcoming "Sex and City" sequel, stating that the goal is to make the new movie more sensitive to the growing global financial crisis. Does that mean that the girls will have to now choose between a Prada and Gucci purse, rather than buying both?
Here is what Parker had to say: "How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels? There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges."
She added that the sequel will be more fun than the first movie. "I think we want this one to be a romp," she explained. "The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp."
Rumors about "Sex and the City 2" are already floating around, stating that Carrie (Parker) will have a baby and will have to deal with Mr. Big cheating on her. Both rumors seem false to me, since Carrie has already stated that she will never have a baby in the "Sex and the City" movies and Mr. Big cheating on her keeps the film from being a "romp."
