Mickey Rourke Comments on Losing the Oscar

Mickey Rourke Comments on Losing the OscarSubmit Comment
Mickey Rourke made his Hollywood comeback with "The Wrestler," which also earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Unfortunately he ended up losing to Sean Penn for his portrayal of California's first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk.

ThisIsLondon caught up with Rourke who said that he has more on his mind than losing the Oscar, since one of his four chihuahuas died last week. "It's bittersweet," he said. "I said to myself I'd rather have Loki another two years than an Oscar and I told her that."

It turned out that Rourke couldn't hold on to Loki or win the golden statue, but he decided to at least wear a photo locket of the chihuahua around his neck last night.

Rourke mentioned that if the dog had lived, he would have brought it to the award show.

I wonder if Loki was the dog he carried around with him in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico"

honestly, I like Rourke, but he's a bit creepy with that dog, it reminds me a lot of Christopher McDonald's characte in Dirty Work

Mickey Rourke was great in the wrestler...but as much I dislike Sean Penn,he was better in Milk. Great speech also Penn.

Sean Penn's speech became another one of those hollywood left-wing blabber mouths, maybe said one good thing about this country but thats it. Sorry if I offended anyone. Voicing my opinion.

Stop apologizing planetastudios. Speak your mind... Don't care for the Wrestler, Milk, Slumdog or even Defiance. All of them follow the 'more heart than brains trope' so popular these days. Yeah Rourke and Penn were good in their respective roles and Craig just sucks period. Milk shows that Hollywood loves a politically-correct martyr. And Danny Boyle goes from a film like Sunshine to Slumdog? Good range dude, you have my respect but can you make more of the GOOD movies? You know, 28 Days Later and maybe Millions? Less films about rags-to-riches street urchins and drug user losers, and more of the other stuff.

wasnt rourke's comeback in sin city? even he doesnt count that movie as his comeback, and i dont get it...he was the most memorable part of that movie...and i wish that people would get off of penn's speech...hate to tell you f*cks, but people do watch the oscars to see controversy...no controversy makes for a bland show...and penn didnt really say anything all that controversial...gays should have the right to be as miserable as straights...
