Photos: Megatron's Tank Mode in "Transformers 2"

We already know that Michael Bay has not been completely truthful regarding Megatron's return in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." We have already seen concept art and several toys of the villainous character and writer Robert Orci has recently confirmed Megatron's return.

Today, we have a brand new toy that not only shows Megatron's alien tank mode, but also provides a brief explanation of how the character survived the first movie. Here is what the box says:

"Rebuilt with parts cannibalized from other Decepticons, Megatron rises once again to lead his army. Though the Allspark destroyed him once, he can now feel its power coursing through his circuitry. It calls him to seize his rightful place as ruler over the puny planet on which he was imprisoned and destroyed, and from which he will launch his conquest of the Universe. Optimus Prime is all that stands between him and victory, and the Autobots Leader has done a poor job of hiding himself. At long last, Megatron knows exactly where his enemy is and he has power enough to destroy him."

In addition, we also have The Fallen's alt mode, which is some sort of an alien aircraft.

Has anyone else here handled these new transformers??? I grew up with the first generation, But was playing with my friends sons bumblebee and I couldnt make it transform and almost busted the leg off, Am I just retarded or are these things built like sh*t these days???

If you can't transform these new toys, maybe you should just give up toys completely. Especially since You're old enough to have grown up watching the original show. I grew up with them as well. In the spin off Transformer shows, Megatron was able to change into a tank, and in another he could change into a jet. It makes more sense than for him to change into a gun and then suddenly SHRINK in size. Simple physics, people. By the way, I thought it interesting that the sticker covering his face is a picture of the Arc.....

It's Ark, not Arc. Big difference. Galvatron was something of a tank in alt toy mode. He has treads, rolling wheels and a front mounted cannon. so technically he's the first tank-like spin off from Megs. Then came G2, and Megatron was a green tank that looked and transformed like crap. Megatron was even a car. And then there's Megabolt Megatron. Whatever. And yes, the toys these days are FAR cheaper in quality than G1. No chrome, usually no rubber wheels, hardly any screws. Parts are solid cast and then snapped together. Makes it harder to 'break' them, but finding a complete figure from the Beast Wars era to today is difficult. Legs are ball and socket and they detach easily. Armada/energon are a little better though. Anyway, these movie toys always look like sh*t.

i hope this movie isnt overdone. anyone else get the feeling that it will be?

masKritic...i'd expect so...after all, i didn't think the 1st one would be that much more improved over the cartoon...unless they made the cartoon into a realistic version...but i'm not too worried...michael bay says the 2nd will be better than the 1st...and from what i've seen so far, i have to agree
