"Shrek Goes Fourth" Gets a Plot SynopsisSubmit Comment
DreamWorks is currently working on a fourth installment in the "Shrek" franchise, entitled "Shrek Goes Fourth." And now, /Film got their hands on a new plot synopsis for the film, which will see Rumplestiltskin in a bigger role.

Plot: After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws' kingdom, what's an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What's happened to this ogre's roar?

Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin.

Shrek suddenly finds himself in a in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Forcing a story never works.

Eh. I love Shrek, but this just sounds 'Eh'. Id rather see something with Shrek's parents. Or a Donkey spinoff.

sounds like they took a shrek sized sh*t trying to figure this out

so who are they gonna get to voice rumplestiltskin?...zac efron?...haha...i mean it was bad enough justin timberlake had to get involved in the last one, in which case he didn't have that great of a character in the movie anyway (i wonder how cameron diaz put up with his presence)....the 3rd was kinda like Terminator 3...lagging a great plotline as well as a lame excuse for a sequel...i mean why is it the 2nd's were so much better?....the plotline for this one sounds like decades went by, not years, and that whole 'alternate version of Far Far Away' is just a joke to me...makes me question who is working in the studios, cuz i'm pretty sure even a 5 year old has better imagination than that...and i'm sure any of us here could come up with a better plotline than that...come on, as if kids can understand a rather complicated and uncreative plotline nor would they care

they shouldve stopped after the 2nd one

ha this is getting really ridiculous its like they follow the whole story of falling in love. First Shrek: Fall in love and get married Second Shrek: meet the family and they dont like you Third Shrek: Have kids Fourth Shrek: Escape reality and you start hating your life Fifth possible Shrek: Shrek is abusive and him and fiona get a divorce and child custody is forced on shrek when he doesnt want the kids. and now he does crack.

masKritic...fifth shrek hahaha that was good...i got one for ya....a sixth possible shrek....and i'll sum it up with one word....intervention lol

hahaha for real

this sucks, let it rest already
synthetic1985 writes:

you know...i wonder...maybe it's too hard for these guys to come up something original...they do remakes or retellings, then they make sequels for it...but when the time comes to make something new and fresh it gets too hard so they resort back to remaking because it's easy money?
masKritic writes:
on February 23rd, 2009 at 11:50:52 PM

nah its all strictly about money. They know little sh*thead kids want to see shrek and they make way more than there budget. cheap *ssholes just want money.
synthetic1985 writes:

hmm...in that case...if i ever make any movies...haha like that'll happen...i'd have to make something that is worth its money...and i wouldn't do it as cheap as these writers are doing with shrek....i remember reading something about the guy in charge of shrek....he said he wanted these movies to have been worked on hard for a decade...oh yea, well lord of the rings took only 2 years to film...sounds like laziness with shrek to me...wait lemme rephrase that, laziness and begging for money
masKritic writes:

yeah they should just probably drop the shrek franchise already and start something new that doesn't look so effortless
