Wes Craven Reveals "Hills Have Eyes 3" Ideas

Wes Craven Reveals "Hills Have Eyes 3" IdeasSubmit Comment
Bloody-Disgusting had the chance to talk to Wes Craven, who revealed that a third installment in "The Hills Have Eyes" franchise is currently being discussed. Even though the second film, released in 2007, earned only $37 million in worldwide ticket sales, Craven still wants to proceed and he is not interested in a straight-to-DVD film.

"There's discussion about a possible 'Hills 3' and we'll take it in a totally different direction," he explained. "I'm not interested in doing straight-to-video. If it can't make it in theaters then..."

He went on to reveal that his idea for the third film focuses on a mutant civilization living on through the ages after being radiated by atomic tests in the nearby desert.

"There are a lot of good movies still in that concept," said Craven. "You know 'The Outsiders' and I'd like to flip it actually and have them integrated a little into our society and run into prejudice or something... because they have this ability to survive anything, maybe be recruited by the society that's about to throw them out."

I think a good detailed background story on the mutants could work out, like how they became to be through torture and cruel government expierments.

wow more and more sequels....this makes me really think about what charlie chaplin must have gone through...everybody in hollywood was goin this different direction, and he wanted to make his own stuff but they wouldn't fund his work, so he spends his own money making his own movie and all the fans love it....cuz just like classics, people don't lose their love for it...but nowadays there will be more people like chaplin standin out in the long run

Part 2 sucked and they need to stop with the "mutant helps human" thing they seem to want to keep doing in the movies. I don't know why they didn't just continue where they left off from part one with the family still being stalked.
