The trailer for the upcoming "The Taking of Pelham 123" remake, starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, has been released. Check it out by clicking on the link below.

Plot: Washington stars as New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber, whose ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. Travolta stars as Ryder, the criminal mastermind who, as leader of a highly-armed gang of four, threatens to execute the train's passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages. But there's one riddle Garber can't solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape?

"Pelham" is directed by Tony Scott (Deja Vu) and is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2009.

Yes! Gabriel Shear from Swordfish is alive! No, seriously, this looks good. Travolta and Washington cannot totally fail.

Oh, and Tony Scott? Yeah, that'll work for me. He's not bad at all.

Yeah, great actors, great director. This movie looks really good. Travolta is awesome when he plays the bad guy.

why dont you guys watch the original, and see how pointless this is....they took a character study and turned it into an action thriller....god, i hate hollywood

"why dont you guys watch the original, and see how pointless this is....they took a character study and turned it into an action thriller....god, i hate hollywood" i did dummy but guess what? remaking any movie is 'pointless' for a variety of reasons but this trailer proved another reason to remake movies... to update date a classic story for modern times. hard to believe, i know

"why dont you guys watch the original, and see how pointless this is....they took a character study and turned it into an action thriller....god, i hate hollywood" Yes, hollywood is pathetic. We all know this, I hope, but because Tony Scott is directing the remake and Travolta and Washington are on board, I can't damn the movie, as much as I generally agree with you. I'm a sucker for good action flicks, and Scott delivers I think in his own way in the action genre. Besides, if you want the character study, watch the original. The remake doesn't dinish or destroy the orginal film. And besides, films are a inferior medium for character studies anyway.

MK ULTRA...you are wrong....some remakes make sense, the italian job and oceans eleven are two examples...we needed a modern take on pelham 123? well, it already was done...it was called money train...and that sucked too
