Christopher Nolan to Next Direct "Inception"

Christopher Nolan to Next Direct "Inception"Submit Comment
Christopher Nolan has set up his next project with Warner Bros, an original screenplay he wrote called "Inception." The "Dark Knight" director hopes to shoot the sci-fi action film in the summer for a release during summer 2010.

"Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes," Warner Bros Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov said. "We are thrilled to be collaborating again with him and Emma on this exciting new motion picture."

"Inception" is described as "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind."

This pushes back any potential filming on a new Batman film, but three years -- and "The Prestige" -- passed between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight." And it looks like we are headed for another three years before we see "The Dark Knight" sequel.

Fine with me. When studios start pushing for sooner release dates we see Batman & Robin, and Quantum of Solace.

Go for it, Chris. We're all behind you.

I don't know. Nolan is a fine director but how much of a writer is he? He's on a role right now and I just don't want it to be spoiled because of some vanity project of his.

This is great news. I loved The Prestige and I can understand wanting to unplug from Batman for a little while. I'm sure it helps to stay creative w/ new ideas and then leap back into something you love (ie Batman), instead of over-saturating yourself like Raimi has w/ Spidey.

Cant wait. Fantastic director. Prestige, Memento, Insomnia, Following, Batman Begins and Dark Knight were all fantastic. This should follow suit.

sweet...a non-sequel prequel remake...FINALLY! lol

Chris Nolan is great when it comes to telling stories. You can't say that the guy who wrote Momento, The Prestige, and the last two batman movies is not a great story teller. He's NEVER made a bad movie. So show some respect.

WV-Films, you're spot on with that comment.

Please dont mention Batman and Robin and Quantum together - they are not in the same league.

i give all the credit i can for chris nolan....he spent a lot of time and concentration and hard work trying to make batman as realistic as it can be....because it's one of those characters than can be realistic....not like x-men or superman...cuz batman isn't a mutant...and he's not from outer space...i liked the prestige...and i know when it comes to making a movie...he doesn't f*ck around

f*ck that! give us the batman sequel! that should be top f*cking priority!
