Guillermo Del Toro Says "Hellboy 3" Will Happen

Guillermo Del Toro Says Hellboy 3 Will HappenSubmit Comment
Guillermo Del Toro is currently working on "The Hobbit" prequels, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't been thinking about the third (and final) "Hellboy" installment. In fact, he says that Universal has already set a tentative time table for the movie.

"We're three, four years away from anything happening — so I don't think anyone is, you know, in a big hurry," del Toro told MTV News.

He also recently revealed that he would expect Universal to wait for him to start work on "Hellboy 3." "I would beg them and amputate myself in order for them to wait for me, but I don't control it," explained del Toro. "If they say, 'No, no, no, we're going to do it,' I personally think this incarnation of the trilogy, I would love to finish because it's not arbitrary that we went into a different direction on the second one. I really think when and if you see the three movies, you're going to have a comedic one, a tragic one and you're going to see three movies that are incredibly apart in registration one from another. It's really exploring Hellboy in very different ways."

He added that he is not planning to come on as a producer while someone else is directing "Hellboy 3." His goal is to direct the third installment in order to complete the trilogy.

Fuck. Yes. This is great news. I would loath anyone else to direct this series. I hope that when they get this project underway they involve the Right Hand of Doom story arc. That would cap off the series really well.

Not right now, let's just keep the focus on The Hobbit.
