"2012" Pushed Back to November

"2012" Pushed Back to NovemberSubmit Comment
Sony is delaying the release of Roland Emmerich's sci-fi action pic "2012" from July 10th to November 13th, two weekends before the lucrative Thanksgiving session.

"We've had such success with the James Bond films in November that we wanted a big tentpole film in that slot this year," Sony distribution president Rory Bruer said Tuesday. "We've got so many films in the summer that this is the perfect answer to that."

The studio has slotted its pic against two wide openers -- Warner Bros' caper pic "Sherlock Holmes," starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, and Fox's Dwayne Johnson comedy "The Tooth Fairy." It wasn't clear whether the arrival of "2012" would prompt the departure of either of those pics for clearer pastures.

Sony executives said "2012" could have been completed by its summer date, though the new date will add some extra time for the effects-laden production.

2012 is kind of a joke to me...i don't believe that sh*t...mankind has been saying the world would end on this date or that date...and the simple truth is nobody really knows...btw the mayans thought they were gods...idiots...they were human...you can't be human and be a god...maybe an angel..but not a god....maybe a false god...and doesn't it say in a lot of bibles 'do not become wise in your own eyes'?...if we were soooo right about everything we'd be perfect....but hey wait...we're not perfect...hmm otherwise we'd have nothing to complain about right?...well there you go there's my opinion...unfortunately long again...sorry...haha but it's fun talkin sh*t on sh*t

A little misconception: the Mayans mever claimed the world will end sometime in 2012, that is only when their CALENDER ends. So this apocalyptic trash is nothing more than a cashing in on latent cultural fears, buttressed by exaggerated and misrepresented interpretations of Mayan glyphs. And no one even mention Nostrodamus, for not one of his quatrains fortells explicitly when the world might end.

f*cking studios and their scheduling movies for dumb reasons. f*ck off, as if this movie would be anything other than an effects buffet.

Maybe they'll push it back to 2012. And I wouldn't call it cashing in, so much as tapping the collective unconscious, for better or for worse, much as Dan Brown has done. Can't say it's really cashing in before the thing has even made a dime. (And there's no need for caps, Minkowski. If your words speak loud enough, there's no need to shout.)

minkowski is correct because I was going to say just that, this film seems stupid anyways. I get tired of the whole "end of the world" plot anyways, its beyond cliche at this point.

Maybe the whole 2012 thing is a joke but who knows?...I mean even scientists from NASA are saying that the mayans(with no technology) were able to accuarately predict that the sun will be in the center of the galaxy on december 21, 2012....And the freemasons and nostradamus predicted the same thing so who knows?....

In 2012 there will be No Comets falling or Tsunamis happening ,it will just be another Year to pass,People dont belive any of this Mayan Crap or Nibiru ( WTF),i have informed myself with NASA,there is nothing happening in 2012 ,ABSOLUTLY NOTHING,Keep on dreaming for those who wish for something to Happen but you will have a dam long long Disapointing Dream . Just Enjoy "2012" the Movie when it comes out & be a good Boy ,at least this 2012 Movie is something different, not like the usual War Movies all the time & it looks to be a good Movie too at that. Ciao
