JK Simmons to Return for "Spider-Man 4"

JK Simmons to Return for "Spider-Man 4"Submit Comment
JK Simmons (Juno, Spider-Man) spoke with MTV News to reveal that "Spider-Man 4" will begin shooting in 2010 and that he plans to reprise his role as Daily Bugle publisher J Jonah Jameson. This information appears to confirm earlier reports that Sony was looking towards a May 2011 release.

At this point, none of the actors have signed on, but it is expected that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst will be making their return. And while Simmons is looking forward to begin work on "Spider-Man 4," he reasured the site that he is not planning to ask for more screen time.

"We've definitely brainstormed ideas for Triple-J, but I have no desire to make Triple-J more of the focus of those movies," he said. "The amount that I did in 1, 2 and 3, is just exactly right. Like be the wolf. Come in, blow in, do a week, blow out, be the comic relief, and hit the road. And let Tobey and everybody else do the heavy lifting."

That's awesome, but I still think Dunst needs to stay the hell away from this movie. Replace her with anyone, I don't care who, just not her. And I think James McAvoy would make a good peter parker.

I'm excited. We'll finally have the battle of the box office. Spiderman vs. Batman. It'll be awesome!

^Wow. You really think Spiderman will even put up a fight against Batman. Spiderman is so old and washed up. Spiderman 3 killed the franchise.

It also killed at the box office. So it'll be interesting.

He was a perfect cast for it, really looking forward to how the 4th will end up. Should [hopefully] be goof with everyone returning but we cant speak all that soon seeing as number 3 was only a little good.

yeah he was great in the first two movies but his character had so bad jokes in the 3rd movie i really hated his dialogues especially at the end - now dont get me wrong the joke with the camera kid was really good i laughed in that moment but seconds later i thought damn it breaks the atmosphere down... spidey is fighting the big ass sandman and has a lot of trouble and and they cut in a joke scene with JJJ and a lil girl? that is so badly cut and not appropriate at all i really hated the editing in spiderman3 - and the scene in which parker walks around so cool? what the f*ck was that? the entire feeling of the 2 first movie was gone... yeah it was funny and stuff but f*ck it was not spidermanlike what a damn sh*t - either Raimi returns to the movie style he did with Sp1 & 2 or Sp4 is going to suck as well as the 3rd one did. the best thing about Sp3 were the VFX and the action that was really cool and enjoyable... even the script was ok the dialogues were ok execpt JJJ's but the direction and the editing was BULLsh*t!!! RAIMI GET UR ASS UP AND DO A MOVIE LIKE THE FIRST SPIDERMAN it had such a great feeling.... i miss that...

This film better rectify the pathetic joke of a third film they made. They were on a high with Spiderman 1 and 2 and took a nose dive with Spiderman 3. Let's hope someone in the production team noticed they screwed up.

they better stick to the comics...i wanna see venom and carnage battle...but no sam raimi hates venom too much and carnage will probably never happen....and if tobey macguire absolutely had to be replaced....i think jake gyllenhaal looks more like him than anyone else...but what do fans matter right?...venom was a total disappointment to me...he looks more crazier and badass looking in the comics compared to the movie...plus his head should've been bigger
