First 6 Minutes of "Valkyrie"Posted: January 10th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Tom Cruise's WWII drama "Valkyrie" is currently in theaters and to get a few more people to go see it United Artists have released the first six minutes from the movie. The opening scene shows how Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Cruise) lost his eye and a total of seven fingers.
Plot: A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who serves his country all the while hoping that someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing that time is running out, he decides that he must take action himself and joins the German resistance. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler's own emergency plan -- known as Operation Valkyrie -- these men plot to assassinate the dictator and over-throw his Nazi government from the inside. With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.
"Valkyrie" is directed by Bryan Singer, the man behind "X-Men," "Superman Returns" and "The Usual Suspects."

This was a Singer movie, no? What's wrong with this guy? Why can't he deliver? his last and only good movie was Usual Suspects, title of misdirection of there ever was one. I'd say Usual Suspects was a success because of the writer, but McQuarrie also wrote Valkyrie.

Milwaukee, nobody cares. Singer makes good movies (save for Valkyrie). Your opinion is about as important as winning Amish electrician of the year.

Directing a movie like Usual Suspects rather early on in his career sets the bar way too high. I mean, he's done some GOOD movies since that, but nothing really comes close achievementing the excelence of Usual Suspect. Like Minkowski said, that movie had some really great writing, it would have taken a Uwe Boll caliber director to fuck it up. ( sorry for my BAD English, hope you all got my point.)

Usual Suspects was his best movie, lots of his others could have been way better
