"Quantum of Solace" is Most Successful Bond Film

"Quantum of Solace" is Most Successful Bond FilmSubmit Comment
Even though "Quantum of Solace" received much criticism for its lack of plot and an overabundance of mindless action, the film has now become the most successful Bond flick. Beating out twenty one previous installments, "Solace" has taken in over $167.1 million in North America, slightly surpassing "Casino Royale." And there is still room for improvement, since "Solace" is still playing in 891 theaters across the United States.

In addition, "Quantum of Solace" has grossed another $382.9 internationally, with the important market of Japan still yet to open. Taking in a worldwide gross so far of $550 million, it is already the second-highest grossing Bond film of all time worldwide, trailing just "Casino's" $594.2 million.

At this point, there has not been any news about a 23rd Bond adventure. But just like another Christopher Nolan-directed Batman movie, it will inevitably happen.

Did anyone like "Quantum of Solace" better than "Casino Royale"?

This was the worst Bond movie ever made. How the hell did this become the most successful one?

I think it just needed to be a hour longer b.c. the villain was good and he had a good plan

Bullsh*t. The worst one was either Octop*ssy or Die Another Day. Complete utter bullsh*t. This one is pretty bad though. I don't know why they didn't follow up on the other character arcs so well. I mean, the way all the production soundbytes went, it sounded great, too!

Bull, other than too much CGI there was nothing wrong with Die Another Day. Octop*ssy is just as good as the others. Quantum is the worst.

id say the worst is the world is not enough, denisse richards looks to white trashy to be a bond girl. period. it had to be said. quantum was too much like the bourne ultimatum in the action sequences and the bad guy? i mean who cares wtf happens in bolivia. bond should go after some organisation trying to kill the queen or something. thatd be too bold though.

Sure, those movies were good, if you're a fan of camptastic sh*tpieces with archaic, overly misogynist, overly RELIANT (on special effects) and too much of a retarded plotline. What are you on acid? A korean...now bear with me here...a NORTH KOREAN...a place where they have hardly any technology at all, goes through some crazy clone-shapeshifting process to become a flaming redheaded, pale british twit, so that he can use a special diamond ray to melt countries, all from his base in the antarctic? No, this movie was sh*t.

This article is not going by inflation box office. Casino Royale is more successful than Quantum of Solace anyways because of budget and earnings. Thunderball is also more of a success at the box office if you consider inflation, I'm sure there are others.

World is not Enough is on my top 5 list of bond movies.Yes denise was wrong for the role, but not bad enough to call it the worst. The cigar girl should of been the bond girl but I think they said her english wasn't good. Anyway there are so many bond movies everybody is going to like or dislike differnt ones for differnt reasons.Quantum was terrible from bond,to bond girl, to action,to music. to plot,to villian. Total collapse.
