WGA Nominates "The Dark Knight" Screenplay

WGA Nominates "The Dark Knight" ScreenplaySubmit Comment
The Writers Guild of America announced nominations for outstanding achievement in film during the 2008 season. The nominees will be honored at the upcoming 2009 Writers Guild Awards on February 7th in New York and Los Angeles.

One of the honored films is "The Dark Knight," which is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film has been written by Christopher Nolan and his brother Jonathan.

This news comes after the Producers Guild of America has revealed their nomination of "The Dark Knight" for Best Picture.

Here are the WGA's nominees:

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY

* Burn After Reading: Written by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen

* Milk: Written by Dustin Lance Black

* Vicky Cristina Barcelona: Written by Woody Allen

* The Visitor: Written by Tom McCarthy

* The Wrestler: Written by Robert Siegel

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

* The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: Screenplay by Eric Roth

* The Dark Knight: Screenplay by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan

* Doubt: Screenplay by John Patrick Shanley

* Frost/Nixon: Screenplay by Peter Morgan

* Slumdog Millionaire: Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy

I'm happy you've got the chance to mention The Dark Knight for the million time, as if it's the only movie came out this year, but why did you forget to mention the entire Doc*mentary Screenplay category? I know The Dark Knight wasn't a doc*mentary, but still.....

Yes! Slumdog Millionaire deserves the win just as much as The Dark Knight for best screenplay.
