The Japanese trailer for the upcoming "Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li" has appeared on the official site. Unfortunately, it is not English and does not contain English subtitles, but with over a minute of scenes it should give you a good idea of what to expect.

The new movie is based on the popular Capcom's video game franchise, in which female fighter Chun-Li embarks on a quest for justice.

"Street Fighter" is directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, the man behind such movies as "Romeo Must Die," "Exit Wounds," "Cradle 2 the Grave" and "Doom." At this point, his new film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27th, 2009.

but it still fails because they made to many changes they didn't need to. Like why dose Vega have a chrome mask? and the wire works are killing movies they use it to much it makes it looks stupid. I think it's true that it's seems impossible to get there ki attacks down in the movies that goes for Dragon ball too. It's also true that you cant have every streetfighter in the movie make sure you dont forget that people. They cant make there money on fans alone there trying to show everyone streetfighter so you cant just throw them all in there and expect people to know who they are or else there going to have a short part in the movie. The animated movie threw everyone in because that was for the fans. There missing how brutal there attack are supposed to be they should have watched the animated movie. or maybe some of you guys are right fans will never be pleased but one thing is sure lol I'll watch this before I watch that shi&@# DRAGON BALL!! FUC(@#($ PIECE OF CRAP!! I will never watch dragon ball!! FUC!@ YOU FOX!! lol

This might be worse than the other Street Fighter movie. They need to stop taking Manga to live action. Instead use CGI like Beowulf or TMNT. They just don't turn out good at all in live action.

mattcl23, CGI costs way more for a beowulf level movie, and a TMNT level CGI is too hammy, I agree that they are doing it wrong, but most people are still turned off by the idea of cartoons like Dragonball and the Street Fighter animated movies. I think they need to do these movies 300 style so the over the top action and style from the Street Fighter universe can translate more easily onto film. Plus 300 was very budget controlled ($56 mil) compared to beowulf (150 mil, same as Transformers, not nearly as successful) and can grab the general audience, especially in the domestic box office which acounts for about 40% revenue from most major blockbusters anymore.
