A trailer for the upcoming comedy "Spooner," starring Matthew Lillard (Without a Paddle) and Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), has been released. Check it out by clicking on the link below.

Plot: Herman Spooner (Lillard) is fairly set in his unfulfilling routine, but turning 30 marks a hard deadline set by his mom (Kate Burton) and dad (McDonald) to get a place of his own. To top it off, Spooner's boss (Shea Whigham) is putting on the pressure to bring in some numbers, or face the chopping block. Headed for one of the worst days of his life, Spooner meets the girl of his dreams, Rose (Nora Zehetner). Forgoing all other priorities, Spooner is now working on winning her heart, but on their perfect date, she breaks the news that she is about to leave for the Philippines.

"Spooner" is written and directed by Drake Doremus, who directed "Moonpie" back in 2006 and had a chance to present it at the Cannes Film Festival. Now, he is hoping to acquire a distributor when his new movie appears at the Slamdance Film Festival next month.

That was a little lame. It could have made the trailer funnier. Or is this the kind of "Comedy" that isn't really that funny, but has a lot of "heart"? Like Dan In Real Life.

Drake Doremus (Director of Spooner) is mis-credited as directing the film Moonpie and his name is in the process of being taken off the film. He had nothing to do with any screenings as was stated in this article. Slamdance even wrote a blog about his it: http://www.slamdance.com/blog/permalink/2008/12/19/155858.html I think spooner looks very touching and have read many things about what is said to be an amazing performance by Matthew Lillard
