"Magneto" Waiting for "Wolverine" Results

"Magneto" Waiting for "Wolverine" ResultsSubmit Comment
Back in August, writer/director David Goyer revealed that as soon as he is done with "The Unborn," he and 20th Century Fox will begin talks to push forward with "X-Men Origins: Magneto." "We'll talk and maybe get that going next year," he revealed.

Now, JoBlo caught up with Goyer to get an update on the new film. "That is waiting on 'Wolverine' opening. You know, Fox is just waiting to see," he said. "I think they are curious as to what is the appetite of the spin off movie."

He added that the story will begin in the concentration camp. "That was sort of the transformative moment for [Magneto] so there is no way you can't involve that. But the bulk of the movie takes place around 1961-1962."

Goyer mentioned that nothing from the three "X-Men" films will be included in the Magneto spin-off. "Well it takes place before all of that," he explained. "The movie is really about the friendship between Charles and Eric."

Are you more interested in seeing a Magneto or a Wolverine spin-off?

SO clueless...Magneto's story is done. no one wants to see an entire film spinoff on Magneto. So a green light awaits a bad idea based on the success of a sure thing?....I have no idea how common sense escapes these executives.

The only spin-off I want to see is Wolverine, but it would be cool if they got the same cast together and did another X-men movie with Apocolipse or something.

Hmmm- THAT would be cool...take Wolverine out before he gets overexposed and focus on Colossus and other underused characters...X Men 1, 2 , and 3 were all basically Wolverine's movie anyways...

I can't wait to see the wolverine movie. But as far as magneto, forget about it. They should follow up with deadpool or gambit since both will be introduce in the wolverine movie. Fox has no idea what there doing!

Wolverine is gonna be badass! Hugh Jackman is a beast! as for Magneto, I think it could be interesting. It will show a good amount of detail into the madening of him of how he became evil and so forth.

Wolverine is gunna be great. As for Magneto, Goyer co-wrote Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, so I trust the story will be good. I guess I'm looking forward to Magneto, but I still have my doubts on 2.30 hours of just Magneto.

I don't think they should do Magneto just for the fact that they won't do it right and it will screw over the character for the future
