Jay Leno will NOT Leave the "Tonight Show"

Jay Leno will NOT Leave the "Tonight Show"Submit Comment
NBC is prepped to announce on Tuesday that the "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno will not be departing the network. He will instead take over the 10pm weeknight slot starting next fall - a move that had been rumored as a possibility for months, but something NBC had believed was a real long shot until recently.

Decision to place Leno at 10pm solves one of the most pressing issue facing NBC in the coming year: How to keep ratings leader Leno at the network, and away from the competition.

Move also saves "Tonight Show" successor Conan O'Brien from having to compete against his predecessor - who was expected to land in the 11:35pm slot at another network, most likely ABC.

As part of Leno's new deal, insiders have suggested that Leno could make between $40 million to $50 million a year with a 10pm slot.

Are you happy to see Leno continue on the "Tonight Show"?

Conan's better regardless. All Leno has is Jaywalking and Headlines imo.

Leno is so unfunny. Just let him retire. Conan is clever.

Agree with the other two comments. Leno is really overrated.

Conan can improvise in a second- while Leno just sort of trips up in himself if any conversation deviates from the production notes...He's got good delivery- but that's it. Conan OWNS the conversation the entire time on air. SO what is the story again? Leno IS leaving The Tonight Show but NOT the network? f*cking worstpreviews and their tabloid headlines confusing the hell out of us...

As long as they don't announce that no-talent assclown Jimmy Fallon as a late night host successor, I am satisfied. Of course, rumors still linger that the dumbass is getting his own program regardless. Expect many weeknight hours of sh*tty acoustic cover songs and giggling at one's aggravatingly unfunny jokes to come. What's next, "Outhouse, M.D." starring Larry the Cable Guy?

Fallon is taking the old Conan slot as far as I know.

Fallon is a comedic genius...discuss. hahaha

WHAT!? Conan better than Leno?! No, no, and no. Conan is a nerd trying to be funny. Leno isn't the funniest, but he's interesting. I'm glad hes staying.

Leno is so fake. He speaks with every guest before the interview. What fun is that?

Fallon rumors?? Thats been OFFICIAL for over a year. He takes over Late Night, Conan's old show. He even has his first video blog up about his new studio and house band.

See WP always construes the story so we're all commenting wrong- TRUTH: Jay Leno is leaving the Tonight Show and Conan is taking over- yet Leno will not be leaving the network he's getting another show that's on an hour earlier...and Fallon is confirmed for the last year- FACT. get yersh*t together WP

this is the first step towards the death of tv as we know it...say goodbye to quality programming

I was excited for Conan to take over! So Jay is gonna be at 10, then Conan at 11:30? Basically the same thing as it is now, just moved up in the time slot?

You know, it is so fashionable to take a shot at Jay Leno. Look, the fact is the man is out there every bloody night with fresh material and he's charming.
