David Fincher Attached to Another Serial Killer FilmSubmit Comment
During a press junket for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," ComingSoon had the chance to speak to writer Eric Roth, who revealed that "Button" director David Fincher has expressed interest in his screenplay, ad adaptation of Erik Larson's "The Devil in the White City."

The book focuses on multiple stories revolving around the World Columbian Exposition in 1893. One of the main characters is the real-life character H.H. Holmes, the first documented serial killer in America.

"Fincher's actually interested in it," said Roth, "I want to do a whole thing showing how skyscrapers were built. I love the fact that, in Chicago, there's no low ground to put skyscrapers in. There's just water. They do this special thing where they actually squash -- I don't know how to describe it. But I want to show that like he did in 'Zodiac' with the Transamerica building going up. That kind of thing."

It would seem that Fincher is attracted to serial killer projects, since there are about four that he is currently attached to.

Fincher can do a movie about people taking sh*ts and Id go see it in theatres. Hes an awesome director.

You phrase that headline as if it were a bad thing. Let us not forget that while Fincher has helmed a lot of thrillers about murderers, they are always exceedingly well executed and transcend the confines of the conventional slasher pic. To be more accurate, his works are studies in character rather than nonsensical, serial cut-'em-up garbage (e.g., every Ashley Judd thriller ever made).

The more projects Fincher can get his hands on, the better. The man's brilliant and as long as he's putting out films, I'll go see whatever he does.

As suspect as Larson having any real sale value being such a hack. Man Hollywood and the entertainment business have both been buying up trash and passing it off as gold lately more than ever it seems.
