Mickey Rourke NOT Interested in "Sin city 2"

Mickey Rourke NOT Interested in "Sin city 2"Submit Comment
The "Sin City" sequel has been in the news daily. First it was Frank Miller confirming that the script has been complete and that he believes that shooting could begin as soon as April. Then, Rosario Dawson stated that she also heard about the April start date and added that she would love to return as Gale.

Furthermore, Miller said that he will be co-directing the sequel with Robert Rodriguez, just like he did on the first movie. So it looks like everything is coming together. Not quite.

SuperheroHype had the chance to chat with Mickey Rourke, who doesn't sound as excited about the movie as Dawson and Miller. In fact, there is a good chance that we won't be seeing Rourke returning as Marv.

"No, I'm not interested in that right now. That's not a reality right now. It's pissing in the wind," Rourke admitted. "There's different factions going different directions there. I don't know. That's three hours of make up and I'm claustrophobic, so I'm going to have to work something out."

Do you care if Mickey Rourke is absent from the sequel?

uh mickey...marv should only have a very small part in 2...probably a days work...why are you so hell bent on continuing to burn bridges in the biz? before sin city, your career was dead...now you have a real good shot at an academy nod...dont be stupid...take the gig if offered

Well hes right. There is no real deal set in stone yet and as for Miller hes an idiot, everyone hates him in general so him telling us there is a Sin City 2 I find more like BS and as Mickey said "piss in the wind" Until he gets a greenlight and a script I'm with him....hes not burning any bridges. Hes just being cautious.

Doesn't sound like he isnt interested- he just says the story is bullsh*t "piss in the wind" and the rumours he hears are all over the place...he only has issues with the 3 hours of makeup and clearly says, "I'm going to have to work something out." THAT is more an indication that he would like to do it if the chance was there but he'd like a way around the extensive makeup...sigh...but keep stretching those headlines farther than Paris Hilton's mouth hole so we can have a long thread of misinformed people calling Rourke a d*ck and accusing him of burning bridges...

Sin city without Marv? That's basically a sin.

Frank Miller is an idiot? Who hates him? last time I checked he's considered one of the most seminal and innovative creators in the business despite his later work being a tad campy. But "in general"? Wha wha whaaa?

I see more money as a motivating factor and he should be paid more as I believe he's underrated as an actor these days. Age has been good for his art.

He was also the best thing about Sin City...Hell he MADE Sin City what it was and his character proved the concept...Marv's segment is certainly the only segment of the film where no fan was on the fence.

Hey I think Rourke has proved he can decide what is right for himself. With everything he's gone through, I think we can all trust him to make his own decisions.

Naw- Rourke has only been back for a year or so...let's hope he doesnt take his fame for granted. Maybe you can't remember but the phrase "Rourke has been through a lot" translates to "Rourke was a complete *sshole to everyone, pissed his career away, and finally had some sense to keep himself in check decades later once he realized he took everything he was given for granted." He' talented...but I'll wait a year. We'll see how the Oscar buzz and praise lands on his ego and how he treats others soon after that. Success + Rourke = Bail on monday.
