Keanu Reeves Denies "Speed 3" RumorsPosted: December 3rd, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Dennis Hopper has previously revealed that a third installment in the "Speed" franchise is being worked on and that he will be in it. Later, an AICN scooper revealed that 20th Century Fox is planning a reintroduction of Jack Traven and are hoping to get Keanu Reeves to reprise the role.
To figure out what's going on, IGN went straight to Reeves, who denied knowledge of the project and insisted that he won't star in it. "I honestly don't know anything about it," he said. "I don't know if they are going to make another one, and if they are it won't be with me... honestly!"
The original Speed, which starred Reeves and Sandra Bullock, revolved around a bus wired up to a bomb that would explode should the vehicle's speed drop below 50 mph. A sequel was made with Jason Patric stepping in as a new character to replace Reeves.

Obviously Hopper was jokinī, but it would be fun if they decide to bring Hopper back... a new villain with out a f*ckinī head.

The idea still has some 'speed' but without a good script and concept, it won;t happen. They don;t need Keanu for sure. Dude is grossly over-rated. Can't act, and instead substitutes dead pan delivery of lines for a performance. Starred in the Matrix, sure, but that film had nothing but robots in it. Phones in all his emoting, and hasn't shown a genuine deep emotion since he fell from his mother's womb crying. Get someone else. Make is a woman-led role and have Sandra Bullock take the role. For all her suffering In Premonition Man and The Lake House, she deserves a high-budget blockbuster. Hell, she deserves a f*cking medal. Or just don't make the film. No on needs the grief.

minkowski we've all acknowledged that no one takes what you have to say seriously. i think keanu is a good actor. i think he picks his roles wisely and from an actor's perspective it's not easy doing what he does. unless minkowski you were in the matrix and i didn't know about it.
