"Lost" Movie Will NOT HappenPosted: December 2nd, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Back in October "Lost" producer Damon Lindelof revealed that the idea of a "Lost" movie "makes every bone in my fanboy body cry foul.;i>" But he added: "You never say never," hinting that there still might be a chance.
Now, Lindelof tells reporters that a feature film based on the show will not happen on his watch. "The answer is no," Lindelof said. "At least not by us. We've always felt that the show should definitively end the same place it started ... on television."
Lindelof believes that fans deserve to see the conclusion of "Lost," without being forced to pay for it. "To bring our characters to some sort of cliffhanger," he explained, "where the audience gets none of the answers that they really care about, and then say, 'Now give us 10 bucks. Buy some popcorn, and we'll give you the rest!' [That] would pretty much be the worst thing ever."
Lost returns for its fifth season on January 21st, 2009, at 8pm ET/PT.
Would you rather see the conclusion on the big screen or at home?

I haven't seen any of Lost, but I totally agree with Lindelof's point. Bringing the series to a close and then expecting the fans to pay for the conclusion is bogus. Of course that route is much better than simply not giving a real ending NGE.

Lindelof's point is pretty reasonable, but I'm sure that JJ Abrams would make a great movie that'd sattisfy fans (like me). And it'd be more spectacular and chilling than ever!
