George Miller Officially Off "Justice League"

George Miller Officially Off Justice LeagueSubmit Comment
Today, we have some good and bad news about the "Justice League of America" movie. First, Warner Bros cast director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet) and filled the cast with young/inexperienced stars (Armie Hammer, Megan Gale). Then, Australia refused to give the film a tax break, since the movie was considered American and not Australian, even though Miller is from Australia. Not giving up hope, Miller continued negotiating with the country, but also started to consider Canada as a second choice.

Soon after, the cast has been broken up, but Miller was still working hard. Today, DarkHorizons is reporting that the director has appeared on the Sydney-based morning talk show "Sunrise," where he revealed that he is no longer involved with the project in any capacity.

In my opinion, Miller could have done a great job, but the project was flawed from the start. And here is the good news... Miller has indicated that if the film ever gets going again, he expects that it will be recast as "the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now."

Do you think this is good news for "Justice League"?

the best thing that could happen to the justice league is for everyone to forget that the idea was ever brought up.

It's funny because no one wanted it made in the first place.

Why can't this work, but Avengers can? When the JLA is obviously more iconic and recognizable? Was Miller and his cast right for it? Not really. But this isn't a bad project.

Definitely a good thing considering all the back and forth. Maybe they'll give it a few years, let Nolan finish his Bat-trilogy (is there really any doubt?), and perhaps the Superman re-reboot will get it right. mix in a Wonder Woman movie perhaps, maybe the talked about Green Lantern flick will happen and then a JLA movie might actually work.

They are gonna destroy this movie like Brett Ratner did with X3. They are gonna try to do too much with too many people and end up giving us a 2 1/2 hour headache.

i think JLA should be CGI that will be an awesome way to go.. i don't think a live action movie will get off the ground.. live action could work but i think CGI would be better..

George Miller is the Terry Gilliam of the action world...he's always fucked from the start and that pisses me the hell off...but what can ya do?

It will be good when Bale and Routh sign on. Until then, this is going to be a lame attempt.
