Hugh Jackman Talks "Wolverine" SequelSubmit Comment
MTV News had a chance to speak to Hugh Jackman to find out about the future of the Wolverine character after "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." According to Jackman, he would love to come back for a sequel rather than appear as a side-character in the rumored Deadpool movie.

And he also knows which Wolverine story he would like to tell. "The most intriguing thing to me was the Japan story. I love the Japan story," said Jackman. "I wanted to do the Japan story from around 'X-Men 2.' Can you just picture Wolverine in Japan with the triads and the samurai? It's just genius."

So if the story is so great, why hasn't it been told already? "How can you do that before you explain his origins?" said Jackman. "If we tried to mix the origin and Japan together, it wouldn't do justice to either. So you can tell by the answer where I'd like [the sequel] to go."

Well, he's right about one thing: it would be a TERRIBLE mistake to try to mix the Origin and Japan storylines into one film.

"the triads and the samurai"?

First of all, how arrogant is this prick? He needs to give other/BETTER characters a chance for their own films. ie. DEADPOOL! And second of all, the Japan story sucked and so will Origins.

A second movie already ? What if the new movie is bad ? Usually, when the actor, not the DIRECTOR or the STUDIO sneaks word of a sequel when the audience hasn't seen the first, then it's to help booster fangeeks (re : comics based movies)for the first's box office, so no matter how weak the movie is, it will prompt the STUDIO into considering a sequel. ... not a good sign.

it ain't gonna be bad

It isn't going to be bad...Gavin Hood has found a way to tell Rothman and the other Fox suits to stop ruining their own films by constantly f*cking and screwing over the talented directors they hired. I only heard of one minor power struggle with Rothman on this flick(something over set painting)- and for a studio tool who's known and reported to be a constant hinderance up his director's asses- that is a great sign that Rothman wasn't able to sabotage himself and Fox again.

@meanmonkey: First of all, how ridiculously judgmental are you? Did he say not to have other characters' movies made before a Wolverine sequel? No. He said he'd rather be Wolverine in a proper sequel than as a cameo. And second of all, you're a bit of a prick yourself, aren't you?
