Tom Cruise Planning a Sex Movie with Katie HolmesPosted: November 27th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Tom Cruise's couch-jumping has forever damaged the actor's reputation, but if you are still wondering how Cruise feels about his wife Katie Holmes (Batman Begins), you'll get to find out in an upcoming movie.
The Guardian is reporting that Cruise wants to have sex with Holmes on camera and forever memorialize their love-making as a major motion picture.
The plan, according to an unnamed "film studio boss" is that Cruise and Holmes are "looking for a sexy film to star in as a couple." Specifically, they require "some intense sex stuff." Still more specifically, "they're looking at remaking 'Last Tango in Paris' but anything sexy with a good story appeals."
It seems that a remake of "Basic Instinct" could be a good fit. Film executives agree, saying that they are considering it as well.
Do you think this movie will end Tom Cruise's film career?

Didn't he already have this dream project with Nicole Kidman...then Cruise went slowly insane until some proper damage control kicked in this year? Yeah- go ahead an step right back into what you took years to barely pull yourself out of...just give us some good flicks again before you start takin risks that will send your career into oblivion.

EYES WIDE SHUT didn't.
The only thing that will end Tom Cruise's career is the eventual global warming, which can't come fast enough.
Damn you, Daniel Webster!

What damage did Eyes Wide Shut cause Mr. Cruise? Any? Nope. Cruise's fans are pretty familiar with his hedonism and wacky arrogance, and yet Tom doesn't suffer a lack of projects or popularity. A sex film starring Cruise and what's-her-name will only further alienate Tom's detractors, and stoke the passion of his adoring, fawning lackey fans. Stalin had admirers decades after the truth of his murderous policies came to light. The cult of personality is strong with Cruise, and I imagine it will take more than this to ruin either his career or pop-appeal. Personally, the guy is sickening. He either was always stuck on himself, or he let his fame ruin any moderation, humility, shame and decency he ever once possessed. Despite his fame, his looks and his wealth, he's a sad and troubled person. No shallow pool can quench the abyss.

I hope he does it... so we can stop miscasting movies by putting him in the lead. He wouldnt work anything serious ever again. I love that no one can take that terrible Lohan girl seriously anymore after all that she has done. It really is sad that it took her doing all those things to show everyone how disgusting and untalented she really is, but I am just glad it happened. Let's just pray that it happens to old Tommy.

Actually Eyes Wide Shut did kinda of drag him down- he had to take smaller- less paying films like Magnolia to keep his credibility going with OTHER producers he wasn't affiliated with. And when you OWN your own production company- it's pretty easy to find work in Blockbusters- Blockbusters which seemed to make a little less each time until Cruise and Wagner were at Paramount no more...so Eyes WIde Shut didn't kill him- but it was certainly the start of worse things to come.

A movie based around the sexual act, not a story. I'm pretty sure that's what they call a Porno.

We certainly wont see a new trend of erotic thrillers from this pairing...an erotic thriller with Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett? MAYBE- but there's no way these two are going to revitalize a genre thats been dying a slow death as soft score DTV. Just hire Bang Bros to film ya fucking and get over yourselves.

"Actually Eyes Wide Shut did kinda of drag him down" Nah, not really. Cruise had a big movie every year after Eyes Wide Shut. Magnolia was a critical hit with 8.0 on IMDb. Collateral, Vanilla Sky, War of the Worlds and Minority Report. Cruise worked with Spielberg TWICE after Eyes wide shut and with Mann, no small feat. Before Eyes Wide Shut, he hadn't had a film in three years! EYS has a rating of 7.1 on IMDb. For a 'bad' film that 'ruined' his career, he received decent praise for his role. I mean, Kubrick? He had a swelter of films when he was in his prime, naturally, and demand for Cruise has fallen off in years but not because of EWS. More likely because of his age and publicity stunts.

Yeah I'll have to agree to disagree- Cruise produced mission impossible 1 and 2, Vanilla Sky, and the Last Samurai- so he was in demand from himself...It's easy to get the lead when you're a producer. Cruise was and is still riding his box office success from the 80's and 90's. But his career started going down once all that over exposure and word of mouth came out for EWS. Critics be damned- for common intelligent people that film was deemed useless.

Disagree all you want, it doesn't change one Greek iota. You're still wrong. If you believe a film like EWS, not even a horrible film by any measure, could do the damage you claim to a career in full juggernaut mode, you're as pedestrian as Lumberg from Office Space. EWS just isn't that bad of a flick. LOL. Even Rotten Tomatoes gives the film 78%, a damned fine score. I don't what magazines or reviews YOU were reading, but I'm not seeing none of the antipathy you claim the movie received. None. Perhaps you're confusing your feelings for the film with the critics reviews. One negative review labeled a 'cautionary tale of eroticism', and that's a NEGATIVE review! LOL. You may hate the film, and EWS may have led YOU to dislike Cruise, but empirically, there's not one bit of evidence to suggest EWS had any contribution to Cruise's supposed decline. I disagree he's ever had one. Producer or not. And given his amazing success, including EWS, it's no wonder he ended up with so much control and power, leading to his role as a producer on his own films. Regardless, what you consider a 'good' Cruise flick others laugh at. I thought Top Gun was childish, juvenile and shallow. An other hand, on the 'dark side' of EWS if you wish, Minority Report was a sullen, brooding and deeply conjectural film from the mind of Philip Dick. Cruise hadn't touched anything that heavy...well, ever, unless you consider 'Interview' thoughtful. LOL. And just to reiterate, people and critics generally loved EWS. I'm no fan of the film, but given the near Lynchian quality of Kubrick's last offering, it's a wonder even my brother enjoyed EWS. The evidence is in, you're wrong, 'Prevalent' Mind.

Naw you're just a cunt- people always claim Eyes Wide Shut is some complex mastery- but it's very simple: If you have jealous feelings and separate from your lover you must, you have to, reconnect sexually to begin the repair process- hence the final line of the film. It may not be a bad film- but its certainly easily discarded by casual viewers who were used to throwing money at Cruise for other types of films. Not to mention EWS has some terrible fucking performances- Kidman is the one saving grace....and you're wrong- or just not old enough to remember, but EWS was the first 'if' in a very off putting campaign spearheaded by Cruise himself to be the 'iffiest' fucking loon in the industry.
