Brightlight Pictures has announced that Uwe Boll will be directing a new horror thriller called "The Storm" from a script by Tim McGregor. Principal photography has already started and the cast will be comprised of Steve Bacic ("Andromeda"), Lauren Holly (Dumb and Dumber) and Luke Perry ("Beverly Hills 90210"). [via Bloody-Disgusting]

In the new movie, a stranger named Silas (Perry) emerges from a devastating storm seeking refuge with Tom (Bacic) and Gillian (Holly) on their farm. As they struggle to deal with the upheaval and disaster left in the wake of the storm, Silas may be the only one who can help Tom, Gillian and their young son survive. But as the family comes to terms with what they have lost in the storm, they are threatened by a danger that could prove even more catastrophic than the forces of nature.

"'The Storm' is action-packed, suspenseful, and scary," said producer Shawn Williamson. "We're glad to have Uwe at the helm and we are very excited about this cast."

Brightlight Pictures has collaborated with Boll on a dozen movies including "House of the Dead," "Alone in the Dark," "Postal," "Seed," "BloodRayne" and its sequel," "Tunnel Rats," "Far Cry," and "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale."

This guy probably gets work because of all the criticism he gets. The average movie fan knows who he is because of how bad his movies suck. He's got some fame from that alone.

I remeber the tape he shot in response to the petition to ban him from directing a few months ago. In it, he honestly thought he had more talent than most of the directors of his genre. Has he ever seen a finished product of his films? Does he just go on vacation when the film stops shooting and leaves the rest to the editor's and the production company? God someone needs to stop him from thinking he's. . .well God.

Aren't they all horror films ?

Hey, Steamluv, good point. The only similarity between him and God is that his movies look like he shot and edited them in seven days.

In the Name of the House of the Dark Blood King... next Boll project. A subtle blend of every video game.

Well... At least, it's not based on a video game.
