Cancelled: "Pushing Daisies," "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money"

Cancelled: "Pushing Daisies," "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money"Submit Comment
ABC made several midseason programming announcements Thursday, including ordering more episodes of "Life on Mars" and deciding against picking up "Pushing Daisies," "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Eli Stone" for a full season.

The network informed producers of "Daisies," "Money" and "Stone" that no additional hours will be ordered at this time.

Actively avoiding the "cancelled" word, the network left the door open for ordering episodes in the future, though that is considered unlikely. The trio remain on the schedule for next week, and "Money" and "Stone" will finish their current production order (on their 12th and 13th episodes, respectively). "Daisies" has finished shooting.

ABC also set a premiere date for "Scrubs," which the network picked up this year after NBC canceled the veteran comedy.

"Scrubs" will have its ABC premiere at 9 pm Tuesday, January 6th. ABC will air an hour of back-to-back episodes for two weeks, then "Scrubs" will settle in as a single half-hour at 9:30 pm. The network hasn't announced which half-hour program will serve as a lead-in, though one likely option is the new Mike Judge animated comedy "The Goode Family."

"Pushing Daisies" was the most brilliant, inventive television show in a very long time, the likes of which we may never see again. The one beacon of light in ABC's primetime lineup and they kill it off. It's f*cking staggering how creative programs like this get pushed aside to make room for monotonous, samey bullsh*t like "Dancing with the Stars" "Grey's Anatomy". One of the best shows they ever had...gone.

the writers strike will end up hurting the writers more than they gained...and thats sad...it has also hurt overall viewing of tv shows...unlike the last strike, when there werent real alternatives to turn to...today, there is the internet...and people have found they dont need to watch prime time tv anymore to be entertained....sad about pushing daisies...but fuller is cursed...he has now created 3 brilliant, edgy programs and none have lasted (dead like me continued on without him, and was never the same)...but this is good news for heroes, as he will be returning....hopefully they will kick kring to the curb and let fuller work his magic
