Amazing "2012" Teaser TrailerSubmit Comment
The teaser trailer for the upcoming disaster movie "2012," which is directed by Roland Emmerich, the man behind "Independence Day," "Godzilla," "The Day After Tomorrow" and "10,000 BC." The cast includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover, Oliver Platt and Thomas McCarthy.

In the large-scale film, a large group of people must deal with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers. The idea stems from the fact that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, which could mean the end of the world.

"2012" started shooting in August in Vancouver and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 10th, 2009.

Emmerich's got some okay flicks ("The Patriot," "Independence Day"), but he's been doing these disaster pictures for way too long. He's been pushing the subjects of mass hysteria, Earth in ruins, and crumbling social strata to the point of banality. Methinks he needs to begin constructing a more diverse body of work.

give me a break emrich, are you paranoied?,how many disaster flicks are you going to do? The world is not going to end in 2012,and making a movie about, something that is going to happen in 4 years?,not a good idea. I know for a fact people are not going to like this movie. YOU ARE SCARING THE PUBLIC EMRICH!!!,STOP IT!!!!

I'd rather have Emmerich directing these sure to be released disaster pictures than the imitators. Like it or not, every year there's a film where the entire world is in peril...and Emmerich is the best at it. I still think he should have went for The Day the Earth Stood Still remake, but it's looking great besides.

before saying stupidities, read that legend of the Maya calendar. It ends in 2012, it's a good opportunity to make a disaster movie. No paranoia, just a fun movie (yes, I like disaster movie, just for the entertainment)

The one good thing that should be said about 10000 BC is that unlike 300- the spear isn't thrown like a p*ssy in the end. It has some saving traits for being a total rip off of Apocalypto- which is simply frickin wicked awesome.
