Clint Eastwood to Star as Mark Twain

Clint Eastwood to Star as Mark TwainSubmit Comment
Clint Eastwood has been talking about quitting acting for quite a while to concentrate more on directing. This year, he has the Angelina Jolie-starrer "Changeling" and Oscar contender "Gran Torino," in which he took the lead role. So is "Gran Torino" the last time that we will see Eastwood in front of the camera? Not quite.

Moviehole chatted with Albert Ruddy, the producer of Eastwood's Oscar winner "Million Dollar Baby," who revealed that he is getting ready to team up with Eastwood again on a film next year. "I'm doing another movie with Clint in the spring called 'Remembering Mark Twain,'" said Ruddy. "He's directing the movie, and he's gonna bookend the movie playing Samuel Clemens in the hospital. It's a really sweet, beautiful movie. So that's what I'm all about!"

I'm not sure how Eastwood would play Mark Twain in the later years when the two don't look anything alike. I guess his part will be a small one, with much of the film focusing on the young Twain.

Who do you think should play the young Mark Twain? Maybe Will Smith?

I'm assuming the Will Smith comment was a joke?

It was a joke. But who knows what the studios will do. They have replaced several white comic book characters with black ones and an Asian person with a white one in "21."
