Secret Message in "Angels & Demons" Teaser

Secret Message in "Angels & Demons" TeaserSubmit Comment
The teaser trailer for the upcoming Tom Hanks film "Angels & Demons," which is a sequel to "Da Vinci Code," made its debut yesterday. Apparently, we didn't look close enough at it, because a reader has just informed us that the teaser contains a secret message.

About fifty one seconds into the teaser, the word "Illuminati" appears. If you look in middle of each letter, you will see other letters that spell out "Alters of Science." It just happens that Sony owns a site with a domain name AltarsofScience.com, which contains a video feed of a room with the word "Illuminati" written on the wall and a device that looks like a bomb. There is also a countdown set to run out on May 15th, 2009, which is the theatrical release date of "Angels & Demons."

Looking at the source code for the website, there seems to be a message from the Illuminati, stating: "We will destroy your four pillars, brand your preferiti and sacrifice them on the altars of science...and then bring your church down upon you. Vatican City will be consumed by light."

If this is trying to replicate the success of the viral website campaign of The Dark Knight, Sony should keep its expectations in check.

I suppose you're right, Metafact. However, the secret message flows perfectly with "Angel & Demons"'s storyline. A dark organization that is a buzzword among conspiracy theorists, The Illuminati, tries to wipe out the Catholic Religion by destroying the Vatican. If you've read anything on the Illuminati, there are supposedly clues to their plans and influence all over the place.

Yeah - while Brown doesnt have a 'from the makers of the Dark Knight' label...it's still a good viral idea for the source material. I thought DaVinci Code was going to bomb honestly so don't be so quick on Sony...they turned the original into a huge hit.
