Actor George Clooney has been tipped to take the lead role in a remake of the classic horror film "The Birds." Rod Taylor, who starred in Alfred Hitchcock's original 1983 movie, is delighted at the prospect of Clooney taking on the role - despite being skeptical about the film being remade.
Taylor told the Daily Express: "I often cringe when I hear mention of remakes but I'll hold judgment, especially since I've been told Clooney's the favorite."
Even though Taylor is starting to feel optimistic about the new film, his co-star Tippi Hedron told the Express: "Can't we find new stories, new things to do? Must you be so insecure that you have to take a film that's a classic and try to do it over?"
"The Birds" revolves around a wealthy San Francisco playgirl who pursues a potential boyfriend to a small Northern California town that slowly takes a turn for the bizarre when birds of all kinds suddenly begin to attack people there in increasing numbers and with increasing viciousness.
