Marvel Wants a Dr. Strange Film After "The Avengers"

Marvel Wants a Dr. Strange Film After "The Avengers"Submit Comment
Marvel is currently trying to give certain superheroes their own films in order to bring them together in "The Avengers." With so much going on, is the studio thinking about any other characters for the future?

According to Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige, Dr. Strange is considered as a character that might end up on the big screen after "The Avengers." The goal will be to start looking at superheroes and supervillains who do not only have certain talents or capabilities, but also magical powers.

"Very much so," Feige told MTV News. "I'd say in the next year, year and a half, as we start putting together our film slate for 2012 and 2013, I would not be shocked if we saw Dr. Strange on those lists. I love the idea of taping into the magical realm of the Marvel Universe, which is fairly significant and hasn't yet seen life on screen. It's something I'm very, very interested in."

Many people never heard of "Dr. Strange," so will there be issues introducing him to movie-goers? "I remember two years ago at Comic Con the cover of the 'LA Times Calendar Section,' read 'Marvel calls out the B team' and there was a picture of Iron Man," recalls Feige. "We don't look at them as 'B team.' Dr. Strange? This is one of the best characters we have. [He represents] this amazing cosmic universe to Marvel that we haven't played with in films yet and I think could be amazing to play with."

Do you think Dr. Strange can be translated to the big screen?

Wow that just sounds lame. Next thing you know there will be a ant man film.I can't stress this enoughl marvel needs to get back to basics and do something worth doing.

An Ant-Man film would not be as lame as many people would like to believe. There are many good stories involving Hank Pym in the comics. And as for a Sub-Mariner movie, there needs to be an Aquaman movie first. He's a better character of the same concept.
