Seth Rogen Not Interested in "Ghostbusters 3"

Seth Rogen Not Interested in "Ghostbusters 3"Submit Comment
During the press junket for "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," Collider had the chance to ask Seth Rogen about the rumored "Ghostbusters 3." It was previously said that Rogen could end up being offered a role as one of the new Ghostbusters crew. But according to him, nobody has formally contacted him. "No. Not at all," he said.

And even if they did, he will likely decline the offer. "It's hard to imagine that would be good, isn't it? I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that," said Rogen. "It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it. At first hearing it sounds like the worst idea ever. I dunno. Maybe. I mean, that would have to be one mutherf*cking good script."

Rogen has previously worked with Harold Ramis (Knocked Up), the man who wrote and starred in the first two "Ghostbusters" films. So would Ramis' involvement change Rogen's mind? "It all depends on how bad the script was (laughs)," he explains. "There is a point where it's so bad it's really easy to say no. I have enough insulation around me now that I don't have to say anything."

Do you want to see Seth Rogen as a new Ghostbuster?

It could work, but why even remake it to pass it down to anyone? Either the old crew is back or nothing I say and saying that makes it a why bother?

Ghostbuster 3 should be a PG13 movie, this makes nearly impossible to Rogen. He loves to say "f*ck" in so many contexts.

it's so funny now a days people are so negative about every idea.. it's not like they are trying to remake it.. they it's ghostbusters 3.. it's not like remaking halloween and having ROB ZOMBIE TO DIRECT now that's dumb.. now nobody wants to see him direct another.. just write a great script.. you don't need seth rogan in it anyway..

I'm glad to see him turn his nose up at the opportunity. I think Rogen is hilarious and very talented and hope he continues as such but he's beginning to walk that line of overexposure; better that he use his success to take the very best parts rather cash in at every opportunity and wear out his welcome too early.

I think Rogen could be a good addition to the Ghostbusters franchise but I agree it would have to be one hell of a script. He could be the unassuming character that kind of gets mixed into the plot of the story and then reluctantly accepts the passing of the torch at the end of the movie. He would bring some fresh levity to the whole project if done right.
