No "Quantum of Solace" Sequel for Daniel Craig?

No "Quantum of Solace" Sequel for Daniel Craig?Submit Comment
Speaking to Playboy magazine, actor Daniel Craig has revealed that despite the fact that he signed a contract for a total of four James Bond films, he is not sure that he will return for the third installment.

"I did sign on for four so a piece of paper says there are two more to do," said Craig. "But let's see how this one goes. In the film business, everything doesn't always go according to plan. We'll wait and see. If it goes wrong, we'll have to rethink things."

It seems like his return depends heavily on the success of "Quantum of Solace." Actors hate to get stuck in a franchise, especially one that's on a decline, so if the numbers for "Quantum" are worse than they were for "Casino Royale," we'll be looking for a new Bond.

Do you think Daniel Craig is a good James Bond, or should the filmmakers recast?

Quantum Of Solace (Whatever that means) is gonna be a success. There`s no doubt on that.

Daniel Craig brings a broodiness and vulnerability to what was a somewhat flat, shallow character. I'd be really sad to see him leave. If his motives for leaving are indeed based on the success of Quantum of Solace, then he will most certainly be in the sequel. This film will be received fantastically.

Daniel Craig in my opinion, is the best Bond since Connery. I would not replace him. Quantum Of Solace should be great, no matter what box office number.

There's no way this movie is a failure. You'd have to screw the pooch real bad to stop this one from raking in the cash.

Personally, I do not like bonds movies but the last one was great, I loved Craig's performance.

I liked him as Bond, but I hated the script. "Lucky for you, JB, your new Aston Martin comes equipped with a defibrillator, the deus ex machina model."

Craig acts Bond as Fleming wrote him, and he does so better than any of his predecessors. . . including Connery. Sorry, Sean. I like this return to who Bond is, and I dearly hope that the "What cool and improbable new gadgets does Bond have now" crowd is never again able to hijack these films.

It sounds as though Craig is either over the role or had a bad experience filming this time around. Either way, he seems to want out. A bad film could be the excuse he's looking for. Personally, I think he's a talented actor and I understand where he's coming from but this is not a classy way to handle this situation.

James Bond died with the casting of Craig as 007. This franchise has been so bastardized since 1965 that Fleming's work and hero is no longer recognizable. Anyone who claims Craig portrays Bond as Fleming intended has NEVER read the books. This could be the best news for this franchise ever. (however the studio & producers can't be trusted to get this thing back on track) Good riddance......
