Shia LaBeouf is NOT the New Indiana JonesPosted: October 14th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Harrison Ford revealed that Indiana Jones' sidekick/son Mutt Williams, played by Shia LaBeouf, will not become the new Indy in any future installments of the franchise.
He tells Moviefone: "No, that's never been [the idea]. As George [Lucas] has famously said, we'd have to call it 'Mutt Jones: The Search for Elvis.' [Laughs.] I think it just doesn't work that way. And there's definitely a distinction between passing the fedora and someone picking it up."
Ford is referring to a scene in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" where Mutt almost picks up Indy's fedora, only to be stopped at the last second. Fans took that as Ford possibly passing on the franchise to LaBeouf. Apparently not.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" DVD/Blu-ray is now in stores.

Indy 4 was the only movie I've ever considered walking out of and while it wasn't completely Shia's fault (who is most certainly NOT awesome in any way), he certainly didn't help matters. The franchise is horribly dead, I hope Lucas keeps his giant throat and senility out of the movie business altogether, most especially when it comes to destroying the legacy of my childhood heroes.
