Josh Brolin is Jonah Hex?Posted: October 9th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
HollywoodElsewhere has found out that Josh Brolen (No Country For Old Men) has signed on to star in the big screen adaptation of the "Jonah Hex" graphic novel, to be directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank). This has yet to be confirmed.
Jonah Hex is a fictional character, a Western comic book anti-hero created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga. The right side of his face is horribly distinctly scarred. He was an officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket.
The site adds that the film will be a sort of sci-fi western, even though the comic book had nothing sci-fi about it. The story will supposedly revolve around the title character tracking down a voodoo practitioner.
Previously, Thomas Jane (The Punisher, The Mist) has begged for the filmmakers to cast him as Jonah Hex, but in the end he was rejected. Do you think Brolen is a better choice?

I WOULD HAVE CAST JANE, BROLIN MAY DO A GOOD JOB BUT , JANE IS MORE SEEN AS AN ACTION TYPE HERO, I REALLY BELIEVE HE WOULD HAVE PULLED IT OFF.
