Harrison Ford Says "Indiana Jones 5" is in The WorksPosted: October 4th, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Harrison Ford has revealed to LA Times that George Lucas is currently thinking up ideas for a fifth installment in the "Indiana Jones" franchise. "It's crazy but great," he said. "George is in think mode right now."
Ford added that another film is a good and attractive suggestion. "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again," he said.
So is it Lucas who will be putting a story together, or does Ford and Steven Spielberg have a chance to throw in some ideas? "Really, it comes from the ethos, from the ether," said Ford. "It's natural. It's a way of nature, of course, success breed opportunities ... also we don't stay as closely in contact as have in the last year, that's part of it."
Ford added that he would not be interested in making an animated "Indiana Jones" film, a notion that became at least a possible option after Lucas took his "Star Wars" theatrical saga into the computer-generated realm with "The Clone Wars" this summer.
"I'm not philosophically against doing animation roles but not for Indiana Jones," he said. "I'd hate to see it reduced in any way from the movies that we have done and the way we have done them."

If number 5 is made there are things that are needed to be done:
1.. The use of CGI needs to be lowerd drastically from teh 4th movie, and needs good old stunt work from teh first 3.
2...make sure George Lucuas dosn't try to put CGI int eh film, let Speilberg do it his way.
3... Harrison Ford MUST BE INDIAN JONES, no EXCEPTIONS!!
4... Fight the Nazis again!!, and nothing too over the top. Liek the fridge.
( PS i did love INDy 4, cause it was indy, but it still wasn't the best!)
and please no cartoon of Indy, liek Clone wars, which was just another excuse to get more money.

Skippy's pretty dead on if you ask me. The Nazi's were always key but the Russians in 4 didn't seem like they were a large enough force. They could be used again but there needs to be ALOT more of them. The 6th thing I would add is the artifact in which he's searching for should be something more historic. The whole alien/Scientology thing almost lost me and had me debating the relevance. I suggest something like the Spear of Longinus or the Fountain of Youth even. Please George, no more Jar-Jars.

N8R, i totally agree with you, i really wanted to see more holy relics in Indy 4, The Spear of Destiny (the spear used to stab Jesus), or the fountain of youth will be awsome. But the fountain may be a bit similar to Holy Grail.

The political Climate of Indiana Jones has changed...now that he's in the 50's expect it to reflect the feelings and trends of that decade- which was the fight against communism, government cover ups including little green men, and rock and roll...Bringing the Nazis back as a whole just doesn't make sense in this time frame...Russian spies were a good way to go.

Skippy has some stuff right and some stuff wrong.
1. Yes, the CGI was too strong in "Kingdom"
2. Harrison Ford will be dead soon, and the inclusion of Mutt is what is needed to make sure that the franchise doean't die with Ford.
3. Harrison Ford is too old to fight the Nazis...unless he went to the moon base, which brings me to my next point.
4. Stick to the historical plots. The sci-fi alien plot from "Kingdom" was cheesy and unwanted.
5. The crazy stunts like the fridge is the part of indy movies that make it great. And when your using a star that's in his 60s, you need something to fill the gap.
