Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in "Tintin"Posted: September 23rd, 2008 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

TimesOnline had the chance to speak to Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz), who revealed that after so many years of watching Steven Spielberg's films, he could now have the opportunity to be in one.
The film is the first installment in the "Tintin" trilogy, which is currently having problems getting funded. Universal Pictures has backed out and Paramount Pictures might have some ill feelings toward Spielberg and the entire Paramount/DreamWorks split.
But apparently Spielberg is pushing foward and he wants Pegg and his buddy Nick Frost in the first film. Here is how Pegg described his meeting with Spielberg:
"Steven's smoking a stogy, cap on head, like he's always been since I was a baby," Pegg says, shaking his head in wonder. "I shook his hand and chatted about films. He gave me the mo-cap [motion-capture] camera, and I had a play around with it. Then he said, 'Hey, maybe you and Nick Frost could play the Thompson Twins.' In Tintin. A Spielberg movie. To work with him is beyond..."
Thomson and Thompson are a pair of detectives in the classic European comic strip "The Adventures of Tintin." It is unclear whether the two are related; they have different names but are referred to as twins or brothers at least twice in the series. The two clumsy detectives look like twins and can only be told apart by the shape of their moustaches. They provide much of the comic relief throughout the series, as they are afflicted with spoonerism. They are thoroughly incompetent, and always bent on arresting the wrong character, but in spite of this they somehow get entrusted with delicate missions, such as ensuring security for the Syldavian space project or investigating arms dealing.
