Nicole Kidman to Ruin Another Movie

Nicole Kidman to Ruin Another MovieSubmit Comment
Nicole Kidman, the most overpaid actress in Hollywood and box office poison, has been attached to star and produce "The Eight Wonder," an action-adventure pitch from writer Simon Kinberg. I'm shocked that Kidman keeps getting work since her last ten films have all failed to make back their budgets domestically. Apparently being a good actress is not enough.

Details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but the story centers on an archeological discovery that sets off a globe-spanning race. The goal is to create a movie that will be to "Raiders of the Lost Ark" what the "Bourne" movies are to James Bond movies: a character-driven, treasure-hunting thriller.

Kidman and Kinberg met when working on "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," which the scribe wrote and the actress was to have starred in. When she dropped out because of scheduling reasons, the two teamed for an untitled spy thriller. That project never came to fruition, but Kidman and Kinberg looked for something to work on together. Kinberg cooked up the new idea with Fox, bringing in Kidman.

Kinberg will write the script in the fall.

Kidman is an actress that pulls off good work if paired with a solid script and strong director that knows how to use her. She's like a lot of hollywood actors that get to a certain status, they need stern direction or else they either go into cliche sleep mode (Al Pacino is a solid example) or think the are special enough to do whatever they want (Any big name actor these days pretty much).

THAT WAS THE MOST RIDICILOUS ARTICLE EVER!! She's not going to ruin it, and just because the last 10 movie she have starred in, have failed to reach it's budget in America. NONE OF HER FILMS HAVE EVER BOMBEB! Because the movies have done well WORLDWIDE! And every money counts!

Facts are facts. I think she is a great actress and obviously it is not her fault that the movies underperform, but when your last ten movies failed to make money domestically, you become known as box office poison. Is Will Smith a better actor? I don't think so, but his movies make money and that's why it is no surprise that he keeps getting blockbuster roles and a fat pay check.
