Devastator Confirmed for "Transformers 2"Submit Comment
TFW2005 are claiming that they have confirmed the appearance of the combiner Devastator in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." The site claims that they have the specifics on the character as well.

* Seven construction vehicles merge to form Devastator. * Devastator has lots of upper body strength, like a gorilla. * Not just green, some of the vehicles are red and yellow. * The previously Long Haul concept art by Josh Nizzi is legit (check it out below).

In an interview last year, producer Tom DeSanto has stated that: "If the box office allows us to make a sequel, the door is open to a lot of the Transformers universe. I have a very cool idea on how to intro the Dinobots and Constructicons."

So there you have it, it seem that the producers wanted Constructicons in the sequel and apparently they will get them. But how will they deal with the fact that the name "Devastator" was already used in the first film.

In "Transformers," Devastator appears as a separate character that transforms into a heavily-modified M1 Abrams tank. This character was listed as being renamed Brawl; however, in the final movie, the Decepticon clearly identifies himself as Devastator, although the character is credited as Brawl in the merchandise. According to writers Roberto Orci and Hasbro's Transformers team, this is an error and that he is supposed to be named Brawl. However when queried, director Michael Bay has stated that he has always preferred Devastator, as it "sounded more destructive and dangerous for a Decepticon."
