Adrien Brody Talks "Giallo," "Cadillac Records" and "Manolete"Submit Comment
Cult director Dario Argento (Suspiria) is currently working on a new horror film, entitled "Giallo," starring Adrien Brody (King Kong). In the movie, an American model Celine is kidnapped off the streets during fashion week in Milan and put through a series of terrifying, humiliating and painful ordeals. Her sister Linda desperately recruits Inspector Enzo Lavia to find Celine before she suffers the same awful fate as the other beautiful victims.

WorstPreviews sat down with Brody, who is promoting "The Brothers Bloom" at the Toronto Film Festival, to get a few more details. "It's a thriller obviously about a girl," he said. "The main story line [revolves around] a taxi driver abducting women and I play a detective to find him."

Brody admits that he is close friends with Argento's daughter and a fan of Argento's work. He is glad to work on a project that he considers different from anything else he has been involved in. "It was an opportunity to explore something different," he said. "There was a number of reasons why I was attracted to that."

When asked whether it is similar to his 2005 film "The Jacket," Brody said: "This is a bit harder and darker than 'The Jacket.' 'The Jacket' was more psychological. This is I think more Dario's."

Brody also talked about his upcoming movie "Cadillac Records," in which he plays Leonard Chess, the founder of Chess Records. "You know the interesting thing, Leonard was not quite the musician, but that role was exciting, and getting a chance to understand it more and see the nature of that business also, and the harshness of the music industry, and obviously that the music of that time period influenced so much of the music that we listen today. It was powerful, it was exciting," he explained. "Leonard and I don't have as much in common as other characters that I've played, but I enjoyed it a lot."

Regarding "Manolete," which is a movie about the legendary matador Manuel Rodriguez Sanchez and his love affair with actress Lupe Sino," Brody has not heard much about when we will finally get to see it. "I hope you [see it], I sure hope you do," he said. "I don't know when, but I hope [it gets released]."
