Mark Cuban to Distribute Che Guevara Films

Mark Cuban to Distribute Che Guevara FilmsSubmit Comment
The New York Post revealed that Mark Cuban's Magnolia Pictures has picked up the Steven Soderbergh-directed Che films, "The Argentine" and "Guerrilla." An announcement will be made shortly.

Both movies premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to mixed reviews and are now playing at the Toronto Film Festival. Combined total running time is 4 hours and 22 minutes, which makes for quite a viewing. At this point, it is not clear whether the films will be shown together with an intermission in between, or will be separated and presented as a first and second installment.

"The Argentine" takes place in 1956, when Ernesto 'Che' Guevara (Benicio Del Toro) and a band of Fidel Castro-led Cuban exiles mobilize an army to topple the regime of dictator Fulgencio Batista. The second film, "Guerrilla," revolves around Guevara and his 1964 travels to New York City to address the United Nations.

The movies about Che Guevara are meant to show the man as a hero, rather than the murderer that some see him as. As a result, Cuban might be the only one brave enough to pick up the $70 million project. He also previously talked about distributing "Loose Change," a 9/11 conspiracy movie which tries to prove that it was the United States government that blew up the World Trade Center towers. Seems like this man loves controversy.

Che was a sadist who relished killing his opponents, his opponents usually anyone who publically disagreed with him. And it's pretty damned ironic to find his mug on mass-produced t-shirts. lol. What's next? Stalin coffee mugs? Maybe Stalin's likeness on a brand of bread? The only reason idiots, i.e. people on the left, worship this sc*m is because he stared down the US at a time when Cuba could well afford to do so. It's like two burly guys with bats, eyeing each other, neither one wanting to get killed, while one them has a little brother sticking out his tongue from behind his bigger brother legs. The little brother, the coward, is Che and Cuba.
