On screen or off?
On screen I would probably say Anthony Hopkins, watching him with other actors can sometimes be awkward with such differing talent levels.
Off screen is kind of tough. You have Tom Hanks who can seem to pick and choose projects to both act in and produce. He is good friends with Spielberg, arguably one of the most powerful directors in the business. A few years ago I would have said Tom Cruise, but since his break up with Paramount he has had to revamp what projects he takes (i.e. Tropic Thunder, which I loved!).
