I checked out Half Nelson at http://www.worstpreviews.com/review.php?id=433 and I think that... there are a lot of 'brilliant minds' in the teaching profession that we have seen stray quite a bit further from where we as parents, and just everyday citizens in this country would like them to 'stray'. I believe teachers should use all means of creativity that are available to them to get our children excited about learning, but allowing a child, or teen to find out about our own personal 'demons', ie; drugs that sometimes allow us to, for even a brief amount of time to expand our own intellect and free us from the everyday stresses and drama that can cripple our passion for life; that it's wrong to let that be known outside of our own 'skin', if you will. The movie intrigues me, although the trailer was not much to go on. I have suffered from depression most of my life, the daughter of a bi-polar/schizo-affective disorder father who died of cancer when I was just a teenager. I'm turning 40 this year and have had my struggles with opiates and other drugs that temporarily relieve my pain of depression, both physical and mental, and find it interesting that I, like the character in the movie have been in the education field for the last 15 years or so. The sense of helping others, and seeing results of my efforts eases my pain and is in itself it's own reward.Half Healed
