Fletch Won

Any body know what happened to fletch won? Back in '03is they were saying it would be out for '06, and I haven't heard anything about it in a year or so, and then Miramax still said it was happening.

I love Fletch movies, really because of Chevy Chase, and I heard that the new one will be directed by Kevin Smith. Smith wanted to cast Jason Lee or Ben Affleck, but I think Zack Braff was going to take the role of Fletch. I believe that Smith is planning to begin in 2006, but there has been no news if he has started. If it comes out, my vote goes to Jason Lee to play the role of Fletch.

Kevin Smith was the one who got the ball rolling, but my understanding was that he was no longer with the project (but that it was being made regardless).

Why not Braff for director? He did a great job with "Garden State". But the other "Scrubs" dude will be fine. Anyone else wonder, what the hell happened to Chevy Chase?

I see way too much potential to screw this up. Their best shot was having Kevin Smith direct and Jason Lee as the lead. Chevy Chase was awesome in the Fletch movies, but unfortunately I've heard nothing good about this guy. Everyone that has ever worked with him says that he's the biggest jerk. That probably has something to do with why he's not doing anything anymore. He was also really funny in the Norm McDonald/Artie Lange movie "Dirty Work". That movie had some priceless Chevy quotes.
